APESB hosted a dinner event, an evening with IESBA Chair, Gabriela Figueiredo Dias, on 9 May 2024
Ms Gabriela Figueiredo Dias provided a keynote address on the critical role of ethics in the success of global businesses and the ethical journey for accountants, including present and future challenges for the profession. Gabriela also talked about the IESBA’s recent advancements in ethics relating to technology, tax planning and sustainability.

APESB Fifteen Year Anniversary Event
APESB celebrated 15 years of operations on 21 May 2021 with a thought leadership event on Business Ethics, the pace of digitalisation and the accountants' role in a post-Covid environment. The panel was moderated by APESB Chairman Nancy Milne OAM and comprised of Dr Stavros Thomadakis (Chairman IESBA), Mr Kevin Dancey CM (CEO IFAC), Dr Attracta Lagan (Principal of Managing Values), and Ms Ming Long AM (Deputy Chair of Diversity Council Australia).
APESB also launched a 15 Year Anniversary Booklet at the event.

APESB hosted a dinner event, an evening with IESBA Chairman, Dr Stavros Thomadakis, on 8 November 2018.
Dr Stavros Thomadakis’ keynote speech on the essentials of the international Code, its global positioning and present and future challenges faced by stakeholders in its adoption and implementation was the highlight of this event.

APESB celebrated the completion of 10 years of operations with a panel discussion and dinner function held at the RACV Club on the 14th of November 2016. The Board also thanked its Taskforce members for their significant contributions to the development of APESB standards.

APESB hosted two thought leadership events in conjunction with the visit of the International Ethics Standards Board for Accountants (IESBA) to Sydney in September 2013. APESB’s thought leadership events provided the opportunity for the visiting IESBA delegation to connect with local stakeholders from the accounting profession, firms, members, regulators and government authorities.
