The APESB is supported by a team of technical and administrative staff known as the "secretariat". The primary role of the secretariat is to oversee the drafting and development of relevant up-to-date professional and ethical standards for members of the profession and to provide administrative support to the Board.
Mr Channa Wijesinghe is a graduate of Monash University and holds a MBA from Deakin University. He is a Fellow of both the Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand and CPA Australia, and a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (UK). He has over ten years' experience with Ernst & Young and Deloitte in Audit and Corporate Finance and was an Audit Director at Deloitte. His commercial experience includes two years with AGL Energy where he was a member of the AGL IFRS project team and was involved in IFRS implementation. He joined the APESB in January 2007. Since that time he has been responsible for the development of the suite of professional pronouncements issued by the APESB. He functions as the Chairman of APESB's Standard Development Taskforces and represents APESB at IESBA's National Standards Setters group.
Ms Jacinta Hanrahan holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Ballarat. She is a member of Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand. She has ten years' experience with PricewaterhouseCoopers; initially in the Assurance and Advisory services division and then as a Manager in the Accounting and Consulting Services Division. She has also worked in industry for 8 years gaining experience in the not-for-profit, education, tourism and hospitality industries. Jacinta joined the APESB in October 2015 and is involved in the standard setting and operational activities of the APESB.
Ms Ruth Oliquino holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Santo Tomas, Philippines. She is a member of CPA Australia and an Associate Member of Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (UK). She has more than 15 years of audit and risk management experience working primarily at PwC and Deloitte in Australia, UK, USA and the Philippines. She was also a Project Manager at the Australian Auditing and Assurance Standards Board where she worked on a number of standard setting projects. She joined the APESB in August 2016 and works with the Senior Technical Manager in delivering the Technical Program of the APESB.
Ms Anna Brasier holds a Bachelor of Communications and a Diploma of Professional Writing and Editing from Victoria University. Anna has many years’ experience from various industries including retail and tourism. In recent years, she has worked as Managing Editor and Editor in Chief for Victoria University’s student publications, Offset and Hyde. She joined the APESB in April 2017 and works as a support to the Secretariat and is involved in Communication activities.
